Information Regarding DHS Alumni Web Site

Howdy Folks

This page is intended to help find someone to serve as a Backup Webmaster for this web site and someone to take over as Webmaster someday should I become incapacitated or for some reason not be able to continue. I am now 70 years old this year and while I hope to be able to continue as webmaster for many years to come, I feel that it would be a shame to loose this web site unique to DHS should something happen to me. I am currently working on a number of other "Post Planning" issues such as a will, cremation arrangements, letters to my kids etc, so it comes to mind that I should "Post Plan" for the web site as well.

Ideally, I would like to find someone to serve as both Backup Webmaster and a "technically aware" Assistant Webmaster but that is not necessary.

The requirements for the Backup would be that he or she has a basic awareness of html and a willingness to devote time to an interesting hobby. I believe that my being "retired" allows me the free time to pursue this hobby.

The technical requirements of the "technically aware" Assistant Webmaster would include a slightly better working knowledge of html and although not a hard requirement, a working knowledge of Cold Fusion would be very helpful. The site is currently written in "Cold Fusion" which I have little knowledge of. There are a number of upgrades that I would like to make on the site but am unable to because of my limited knowledge of Cold Fusion

A local high school guru nerd, now long gone, originally designed the web site for me and unfortunately for me, he did it in Cold Fusion. While I have a pretty good basic working knowledge of html, I know zilch about coding Cold Fusion. As a result I am unable to make a number of changes to the site that I feel would be very useful. I can deal with what's there all right but I can't make any improvements. If someone is out that that knows Cold Fusion and would like to volunteer to design upgrades to the current site, I would be very interested in communicating with them. Alternatively, if someone is out there that would be willing to help rewrite the site in other than Cold Fusion, that would work as well. This person would have to know how to tie in "data bases" which I also don't know how to do.

If you are interested in getting involved with any of the above, please email me at Webmaster@DHSAlumni.com
