My name is Sue Wong. I was born in 1981 in a small village in (Blank - Province) near the city of ??? When I was a young girl, I always had a dream of working in a big hotel where I could meet people from all over the world. When I graduated from high school my father encouraged me to study to be a schoolteacher in college, which is the path I followed.

I attended Linyi Teachers University in Shandong Province

I am now an English teacher at a middle school in Qingdao Province. I enjoy working with the students but in the back of my mind I still have the dream to one day work in a big hotel or even to travel to foreign lands so I could see the pretty places we learn about in school.

School life in China is very busy for both students and teachers. I go to school at 6:30 AM and leave school at 5:30 PM each day and then from ______AM to _______ PM on Saturday. My hometown is about 70 kilometers from my school so return home only a few times a year. I am not yet married so I live alone. I rent a room from an old lady. I spend most of my free time watching TV, reading magazines or surfing the Internet. On weekends I like to go shopping with my friends.

Although in real life I still teach in Qingdao, in the novel my Character Sue Wong moved to Hong Kong to teach English at a high school there and I get a part time job as a tour guide for the Wesley Hotel. This is where I meet Wan Sun (Sunny) and her parents. When Sunny attends college at UHK, her and I become good friends. Throughout the novel, I will eventually achieve my dream of becoming a manager of a big hotel in Hong Kong. After college, Sunny goes to work for the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong as a journalist and we share an apartment.
