This book is written by an author that has been to China (Hong Kong) only once many years ago. Much research has been done on the Internet but most of the input has come from email exchanges with real people living in China. It is an attempt on the author's part to convey the spirit and feelings of the many people who have provided input via email into a published work.
The book is a fictional novel about a young Chinese girl as she goes through her educational years, blossoms into a top notch journalist and goes on to become a champion and leader of human rights in her country and throughout the world. The names and locations of the characters in this book have been changed but they represent real people living in today's China who have provided input about their lives to the author.
It should be noted that at no time did any of these people disparage their country or government. There were comments like that while they didn't like to abide by China's "One Child" policy, they knew it was necessary to control the population so the economy could improve. Most of the respondents were young people but input was received from people from all walks of life. Many of the older respondents grew up in abject poverty only to see major improvements in their lives through the years.
